Dissertation Research

Dr. Throne hosts Beyond Summary: The 3-step literature review

Dr. Throne's webinar, Beyond Summary: The Three-Step Dissertation Literature Review, is now available in the NCU Academic Success Center.

Literature review is a distinct form of academic writing, a skill that doctoral candidates must master to demonstrate knowledge of the literature landscape that surrounds any given dissertation research problem. While a literature review may resemble academic writing used for exposition, comprehensive exams, or other forms, it has a unique function within dissertation research. This webinar will introduce doctoral candidates to (a) the purpose and function of the literature review in a dissertation research study, (b) three systematic steps to follow to conduct a literature review, and (c) the use of the literature review when determining implications of the dissertation research study results.
